An exciting opportunity to play a key role within the Young Women’s Outreach Project by applying your existing skills in a new and exciting context. The Young Women’s Outreach Project supports young women and young mothers aged 11-19yrs in the North East of England to build their self-worth, enhance opportunity and choices and gain control over their lives irrespective of disability, gender reassignment, race, religion or belief, sex, sexual orientation, supporting and guiding them through crises in their lives.

Academics at the University of Birmingham have identified a significant association between mental illness and domestic abuse in UK women.

Up until now, there has been confusion whether the mental illness or the abuse came first and very few previous studies have been able to demonstrate the direction of the relationship.
