"The forthcoming Domestic Violence Bill must prioritise safety, equality, dignity and liberty for migrant women.

Funding: Garfield Weston Foundation

To celebrate their 60th anniversary, the Garfield Weston Foundation has announced a grants scheme offering £5 to smaller charities to provide new, or improve existing, community facilities. The Anniversary Fund will consider funding the entirety of a project, or help to complete your fundraising, with grants ranging from £30,000 to £150,000. Applications open from 5th January to 30th June 2018. 

Sexual harassment is rife in hospitality industry, according to preliminary findings of Unite survey

Nine out of 10 hospitality workers have experienced sexual harassment at work, according to the preliminary finding of a new survey by Unite, the country’s biggest union. The initial findings of the union’s #NotOnTheMenu survey reveal that of those who had experienced sexual harassment and responded 56.3 per cent said that they had been targeted by a member of the public and 22.7 percent said that they had been harassed by a manager.

Extent of online facilitated child sexual abuse

The University of Huddersfield has published a report for the Independent Inquiry into Child Sexual Abuse (IICSA) quantifying the extent of online facilitated child sexual abuse (CSA), and providing estimates of the scale of varying types of online-facilitated child sexual abuse. The rapid evidence assessment includes figures for the number of offences committed; the number of perpetrators; the number of victims; and the number of images viewed, downloaded and exchanged.

Larry Nassar's 'death warrant': sexual abuser jailed for up to 175 years

The former USA Gymnastics team doctor Larry Nassar has been sentenced to between 40 and 175 years in prison for abusing athletes in his care. Judge Rosemarie Aquilina reached her decision after a sentence hearing that heard from dozens of women and girls, including the Olympic champions Aly Raisman and McKayla Maroney. Nassar had already admitted in November to molesting seven girls in his care under the guise of treatment.
