Making the domestic abuse bill work for survivors - Women's Aid

Currently, the domestic abuse bill is silent on this issue of unsafe family courts and child contact.This is where we come in.

Our Child First campaign is calling for the bill to deliver safe child contact arrangements for children in cases of domestic abuse, and new protections to make the family courts safer for survivors. We keep survivors at the heart of our work and campaign to ensure their voices are heard. Global Fund for Women expands young women's leadership programme to East Africa

With funding support from the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, we have expanded the Young Women’s Leadership Initiative to East Africa–in Kenya and Tanzania. Global Fund for Women is working with 40 young women from 20 women’s rights organizations across Kenya and Tanzania, to strengthen their leadership and support them as they create and implement their own community projects to create social change. The initiative in East Africa is currently in its first year, and Global Fund for Women will be tracking the initiative’s progress.

Step Up Migrant Women Campaign publishes research findings on migrant women reporting to the police

The Right to be Believed: Migrant women facing violence against women and girls (VAWG) in the 'hostile immigration' environment in London, a research report produced by Cathy McIwaine from King's College London, Lucila Granada and Illary Valenzuela-Oblitas from LAWRS/Step Up Migrant Women campaign, was published in May.
