Young Women's Project Looking for Trustees

An exciting opportunity to play a key role within the Young Women’s Outreach Project by applying your existing skills in a new and exciting context. The Young Women’s Outreach Project supports young women and young mothers aged 11-19yrs in the North East of England to build their self-worth, enhance opportunity and choices and gain control over their lives irrespective of disability, gender reassignment, race, religion or belief, sex, sexual orientation, supporting and guiding them through crises in their lives. These include unplanned pregnancy, problems or struggling in schools, mental health issues, rape, self-harm, lack of confidence and self-belief, violence or sexual exploitation.
As we continue to grow, we are looking to recruit new Trustees to complement the skills of our existing board. We welcome applications from all people and would be especially glad to hear from young women and young mothers. We are particularly keen to hear from people who have specific expertise including: finance, fundraising, sales, education, health, academic research, digital technologies, public relations or legal.

Trustees play a vital role in the organisation, steering and supporting its development. There are lots of benefits to becoming a trustee, including enhancing your CV, building social and professional connections and the challenge of being involved in something completely new. As a Trustee you will gain satisfaction from knowing
that you will be helping to improve the lives of young women and be part of developing a charity that has existed for 27 years and is always looking to grow and develop and get the very best outcomes for young women.
Board meetings are held every two months currently on a Tuesday afternoon for approx one and half hours at our office in Gateshead. (this can be negotiated changed) In addition to this, there may be occasional additional meetings or meetings of specific task groups. 

Salary: These are voluntary positions and expenses can be claimed
