The Women’s Fund is now open for applications and now able to offer larger grants, up to £5,000. The fund previously awarded grants up to £3,000 so this is a significant change and it's hoped it will encourage more applications. Full details are on the Community Foundation website and applicants should use the standard Community Foundation online application process, simply indicating that your application is for consideration by the Women’s Fund.
The closing date is Thursday 1st November. Gill Lowing of the Foundation is happy to take any calls from groups about projects they are planning to submit.
You may have heard that the national umbrella body for UK Community Foundations has secured Tampon Tax funding for distribution across the country. This brings sufficient additional funding into our region and will be administered by Durham Community Foundation to channel funds across Tyne & Wear and Northumberland as well as County Durham. Projects supported will focus around
- Building skills and confidence
- Improving health and well-being
- Building social networks
Keep an eye on Durham’s website for information on the launch of the fund, notice of the application process and deadline.
