RCEW are recruiting a Policy Officer.

37hrs per week with immediate start
Location: Rape Crisis England & Wales office is based in Leeds. However, this role requires regular travel between Essex/London and Leeds with occasional travel across England & Wales.
Salary: £30,961
Fixed contract until May 2021 subject to securing funding

Rape Crisis England & Wales are looking to recruit a Policy Officer to support the coordination and development of Rape Crisis England & Wales work with policy makers and commissioners. The role will require extensive travel and you will be required to work closely with both our RCEW team in Leeds and our External Relations Team in Essex. This role is funded with support from Lloyds Bank Foundation for England & Wales

Who are we looking for?
The successful candidate will need relevant experience and a range of skills including:

  • Writing and producing briefings for a range of audiences
  • Influencing people and promoting ideas including public speaking
  • A high level understanding of, and the ability to operate in a complex political and policy driven environment
  • Excellent desk based research skills and the ability to analyse and synthesise large amounts of data, prepare policy reports and briefings including government consultations
  • An understanding of the experiences and needs of women and girls impacted by sexual violence.

*Genuine Occupational Requirement (GOR), Schedule 9 (Work; Exceptions), Part 1 (Occupational Requirements), of the Equality Act (2010) applies. RCEW and local Rape Crisis Centres provide a women-only safe space in which women and children who have experienced sexual violence are supported and can access services.
