Joint targeted area inspection: Durham

Ofsted, the Care Quality Commission, HM Inspectorate of Constabulary and HM Inspectorate of Probation have published a letter outlining the findings of a joint targeted area inspection (JTAI) of the multi-agency response to abuse and neglect in Durham. This includes a ‘deep dive’ focus on the response to children living with domestic abuse. Key strengths include: a strong commitment to a multi-agency approach at a strategic level; and awareness-raising of domestic abuse by the partners is embedded and visible and leads to increased confidence in victims reporting domestic abuse.
