MANAGEMENT TEAM: FINANCE & OPERATIONS MANAGER

£28, 485 pro rata (NJC, SO2)

28 hours per week

You will work as part of the Senior Management Team to contribute financial and operational expertise in the development and implementation of organisational strategies, policies, practices, funding proposals and applications. You will be responsible for the smooth and efficient running of the organisation by providing leadership in: all financial matters, including budget development, planning & reporting; all operational matters, including managing human resource requirements and overseeing activities to ensure safe and effective management. You will also coordinate administration and governance support to the Management Board and its subcommittees.

You will work in an environment that vulnerable women and children access and will be required to demonstrate commitment to safeguarding and protecting all service users from harm and abuse.

 

VAWG Services: Sexual Harassment Project: SEXUAL HARASSMENT ADVICE WORKER

£26,081 (NJC SO1) pro rata

21 hours/week

You will work as part of a national project operating in the north-south of England specifically in London and Newcastle. .London Black Women’s Project (LBWP), Latin American Women’s Rights Service (LAWRS) and Angelou Centre have been funded to deliver a specialist legal advice project focusing on the experiences of sexual harassment and abuse of black and minority, including migrant, women. You will provide legal advice towards litigation stage for black and minority women and girls experiencing sexual harassment and abuse. You will offer weekly specialist advice surgeries on sexual harassment on a drop-in and appointment basis and undertake casework. You will also deliver six monthly capacity building training to professionals focusing on black and minority women’s experiences of sexual harassment generated from your casework.

You will have regular contact with vulnerable women at risk and on occasion their children , and will be required to demonstrate commitment to safeguarding and protecting all service users from harm and abuse

 

VAWG Services: ANGELOU HAVEN: HOUSING SERVICES COORDINATOR

£25,954- £28,485 pro rata (NJC, SO1-SO2)

18 hours per week

You will be responsible for the delivery of high quality refuge housing and support services to women and children escaping violence and abuse in accordance with Angelou Centre’s (AC’s) operational policies and procedures. You will be responsible for all elements of the day to day running of Angelou Haven properties; ensuring compliance with health and safety across various sites, maintaining records You will have experience in providing an efficient and effective property management service, as well as maintaining good relations with all service users and stakeholders. You will be involved in the strategic development of the Angelou Centres refuge property portfolio.

You will have daily contact with vulnerable women and children at risk and will be required to demonstrate commitment to safeguarding and protecting all service users from harm and abuse

 

BI-LINGUAL COUNSELLOR (Arabic/Bengali)

£25, 998 - £29, 333 pro rata (NHS band 5-6)

6 hours per week

You will deliver a bespoke counselling service to help black and minority victims of violence and abuse address the impact of emotional and psychological trauma. You will undertake clinical work including assessments and counselling for women referred as part of the project. You will provide bi/multi lingual counselling to black and minority women in either Arabic or Bengali with English.

You will have regular contact with vulnerable women at risk, and on occasion their children, and will need to demonstrate commitment to safeguarding and protecting all service users from harm and abuse

These posts will be subject to an Advanced DBS check and are open to women* only (*exempt under the Equality Act 2010 Schedule 9, Part 1).
