A Chance to Trade Programme run by the Millin Charity

Our #ACHANCETOTRADE Project supports women in Newcastle to develop their business ideas and to make progress towards their enterprise goals. 

As part of this project, we run regular Specialist Enterprise Workshops for women to increase their business skills and knowledge. Additionally, women will also receive access to One-to-one Business Advice & Guidance and Trading Opportunities.  We have a range of new workshops and opportunities taking place throughout March - see below for further details. 

'STARTING A BUSINESS: LEGALITIES TO KNOW ABOUT' WORKSHOP 
Tuesday 3rd March 10.00am-12.00pm
This workshop covers the basic legal requirements when becoming self-employed.

'USING YOUR SMART PHONE TO PHOTOGRAPH YOUR OWN PRODUCTS' WORKSHOP 
Friday 20th March 10.00am-12.00pm
This workshop will focus on how to use smartphone photography to photograph products without a professional camera for online sales & social media promotions.

'USING INSTAGRAM FOR MY BUSINESS' WORKSHOP 
Friday 27th March 10.00am-12.00pm
This workshop will take participants through the steps of setting up an Instagram business account, how to create effective posts and how to use hashtags to increase your audience.

'TRADE FOR A DAY' SHORT COURSE 
Thursday 19th March & Thursday 2nd April 12.45-2.45pm  
This short course supports participants to think about the preparations and equipment they might need to consider in order to sell to the public. Participants will also be supported to have a stall at a pop-up market at The Grainger Market on 26th March.

TRADING OPPORTUNITIES AT POP-UP MARKETS
The Millin Charity runs a monthly pop-up market at the Newcastle Grainger Market on the last Thursday of the month, providing opportunities for women to have their own stall to gain hands on experience of trading to the public.
