Following the cancellation of the CEDAW in the North East event on 28th February, the Women's Resurce Centre is inviting women to share their views in an online consultation. All of the presentations from the day can be seen on the CEDAW page on the website and also as separate posts in the weekly e-bulletin.
We are interested to know:
· Key issues for women in the North East (with sources of evidence where possible)
· What the Government has done to remedy the issues
· Your recommendations for action
Remember that women who had intended to come to the event would have only been participating in one or two workshops - WE DO NOT EXPECT YOU TO COMMENT ON THE WHOLE SURVEY. ONLY THE SECTIONS YOU ARE PARTICULARLY INTERESTED IN.
There will also be some smaller local consultation events in the next few weeks and details will be available on the website and on the NEWN Facebook page @NWomensNetwork
CEDAW stands for the Convention on the Elimination of all forms of Discrimination Against Women and is an international treaty adopted by the United Nations in 1979. The UK Government signed up to CEDAW in 1986 and is next due to report in 2019 (it submitted a written report in 2017). Read more here - https://thewomensresourcecentre.org.uk/our-work/cedaw/
