Young Women, Politics and Voice

Date and time:

Tuesday, March 5, 2019 - 17:30 to 19:00

Location:

Newcastle City Library - Bewick Hall

As part of our celebrations around International Women’s Day, the Women in Newcastle (WiN) group are organising an interactive discussion on young women, politics and voice. At the last general election, more young people voted than ever before and young women are often at the forefront of marches and campaigns around equality and human rights.

We are therefore delighted to bring you a brilliant panel of speakers for this event:

Charlotte Boulton,Newcastle Students’ Union Marginalised Genders Officer,

KeldyneWilson, Northumbria Students’ Union Vice-President-Activities and

Caitlin Evenden, Northumbria Students’ Union Women Students’ Officer.

We will also hear from members of Newcastle’s Youth Council.
Each of our panellists will speak for a few minutes about why they got involved in different kinds of political activity and why hearing young women’s voices is important. We will then open up the discussion to comments and questions from the floor. If you would like to attend, please register here
