Date and time:
Film Hub North, BFI NETWORK and The Cumberland Arms present a programme of short films celebrating female filmmakers
International Women's Day is on Sunday, 8 March, but we're starting the celebrations a few days early with an evening of short films showcasing women filmmakers based in the North and beyond. Join us at The Cumberland Arms, Newcastle on Thursday, 5 March for a selection of films curated by BFI NETWORK Talent Executive Roxy McKenna and Saltaire-based producer Hollie Bryan.
In addition to catching an exciting programme that includes work from Luna Carmoon, Abena Taylor-Smith, Lesley Anne Rose, Alia Ghafar, Ellen Evans and Laura Carreira there will be the chance to meet the Film Hub North team and chat about opportunities. Following the screening, we'll be hosting a panel discussion featuring Ami Nisa (Newcastle University), Lesley Anne Rose (Artist), Rachel Pronger (Festival & Cinema Programmer) and Jen Corcoran (Producer).
The International Women's Day celebrations continue at The Cumberland Arms across the weekend - take a look at their Facebook page for more information on a packed three days of music, talks and comedy.
