During this event, we will hear from Dr Dominic Willmott, who will give participants an understanding of jury decision making and sexual violence perpetration and attitudes. Dominic will discuss the extent to which juror bias can impact the impartiality of verdict decisions within rape trials, the findings from which have received international attention within the media and with practitioners and academics alike.

We will also hear from Police and Crime Commissioner Dame Vera Baird, who will close the event with her thoughts and observations on the outcomes of rape trials in Newcastle specifically.
