Date and time:
GENE, in partnership with Sunderland University, would like to invite you to be part of the scoping process in the development of a collaborative space which brings together researchers, policy makers and practitioners to advance issues of gender and other categories of social difference in entrepreneurship in the North East of England. Details of the venue and how to locate it are at https://www.hopestreetxchange.com/contact/
The purpose of GENE is to enable a regional space for voices to be heard so that a place can be created where knowledge of gender and other categories of social difference within entrepreneurship to be harnessed, produced and transferred to enable social and structural change.
What will be discussed?
The themes identified from the first four scoping events hosted by Newcastle, Durham, Teesside and Northumbria Universities, together with outputs from focus groups, in the last few months, will be explored further. Specifically how and what type of space and place we can create to influence enterprise policy, increase awareness of gender issues and create a sustainable legacy for this agenda in the North East. The regional need and context for GENE will also be discussed as well as the process for the development of GENE over the next 12 months to begin to identify future priorities. Please also note the official launch on November 13th at Newcastle Business School.
The event will be highly interactive and participative workshop. We really would like to listen to your views and ideas.
Who should attend?
Researchers (academic and non-academic), educators (school and beyond), policy makers and practitioners (entrepreneurs, business supporters and advisors) with a stake and interest in entrepreneurship in the North East.
A light lunch will be provided please indicate any specific dietary requirements.
