Date and time:
You are invited to a Business Breakfast at Ernest Café Bar, Newcastle upon Tyne, to discuss ways we can work together to support women to get back into employment after a career break.
This year Changing Lives launched a brand new employment service specifically for women. Having been awarded funding by the Government Equalities Office to work with women across the North East, the programme is aimed at supporting women who have been unemployed for 12 months plus to get back into the workplace and employment.
We want to talk to local businesses about what we’ve learned, discuss what we have done and how we have done it, share possible solutions to the barriers people face and get feedback from YOU about your experiences of recruiting and employing women who have been long term unemployed.
Free breakfast will be provided and there will be networking opportunities at the end of the event.
Through attending this meeting we hope to provide you and your business with a better understanding of the barriers women face. This particular project is ending on 31/12/19, but this information will be shared with the Government Equalities Office to help them develop future projects via our understanding and your ideas and feedback. It will also help Changing Lives to develop the tailored support we offer to people looking to re-enter the world of work.
Our schedule for the morning is:
8:00am Meet and greet and breakfast
8:15am Project overview
8:35am Discussions about barriers and short exercise
8:55am Post exercise discussion
9:05am A participant to share their experience
9:30am Questions and Answers
If you are unable to attend, please consider sending a representative from your business. If you are not able to send anyone, we would still find it really valuable to talk with you. Would you be available for a 15 minute phone call for a quick chat about the project? We will organise a time that suits your busy schedule.
