'Building Foundations of Love (not walls) - The story of one of the most important mothers in history, by Helen Walker.

Alberta's Dream: 'Leading with Love' tells the story of the life of one of the worlds most important mothers, who quietly raised Dr. Martin Luther King with his brother and sister on a foundation of belief and love. In this performance, Alberta finds her voice to tell her own story, with I-Sister, a five piece jazz ensemble (Andrea Ellis, vocals, Lisa Delarney (Vocals/ Guitar), Penny Callow (Electric Bass), Jerry Drake (Drums) and Helen Walker (trumpet). Also starring Belles Up (French Horns), singers from Uplifted Women's Choir and narrators Andrea Harris (I- Sister), Chantelle Howes (Crossings Band) and Ellen Phethean (local writer).

“Isn’t it every parents’ dream, like Alberta, that their children might live in a world free from racism, poverty and war?

That all children grow up on a foundation of love? That all children learn the skills to effect positive change?”

Tickets are free, although £5 donation would be welcome. Proceeds to Amnesty International.
